pThe Panasonic EX-22A Photoelectric Sensor complies with both the EMC Directive and RoHS Directive. It features a sensing range of 5 to 160 mm (0.197 to 6.299 in) when using white non-glossy paper (200 x 200 mm) as the target. For ranges of 50 mm (1.969 in) or less, sensitivity adjustment becomes extremely narrow. The sensor is capable of detecting opaque, translucent, or transparent objects, although its recommended to confirm detection with an actual sensor before use. It offers a hysteresis of 15% or less of the operation distance, with repeatability of 0.3 mm (0.012 in) or less perpendicular to the sensing axis.

The sensor operates on a supply voltage of 12 to 24 V DC. It maintains a current consumption of 13 mA or less. An NPN open-collector transistor manages its output. It supports a maximum sink current of 50 mA. The applied voltage is 30 V DC or less. The sensor maintains a residual voltage of 2 V or less at 50 mA sink current. It also achieves 1 V or less at 16 mA sink current. Short-circuit protection is incorporated into the sensor. It delivers a response time of 0.5 ms or less. Additionally, it features an orange LED operation indicator. The indicator illuminates when the output is ON. A green LED stability indicator indicates stable light received or dark conditions. Additionally, the sensor includes a continuously variable sensitivity adjuster.

The Panasonic EX-22A Photoelectric Sensor endures harsh conditions with its IP67 protection rating. It operates in temperatures ranging from -25 to +55 (-13 to +131 ) and stores safely between -30 to +70 (-22 to +158 ). The sensor tolerates ambient humidity levels of 35 to 85% RH and can endure incandescent light up to 3,000 lx at the light-receiving face. The EX-22A sensor, weighing approximately 20 g (net) and 45 g (gross), also comes with an adjusting screwdriver.
